Pre post natal journey

Your pre post natal journey at The Cheerful Pelvis

While every expecting parent’s needs are different, there is an ideal that we would offer every client if we could!
Consider the below a guide from us, to help you choose what you need for YOUR body and for YOUR best pregnancy journey.

Learn more about how we can treat the common conditions experienced throughout pregnancy and post partum here.

  • BIRTH PREP WORKSHOP

A virtual educational session teaching you all about how to prepare your body for birth and for best recovery in the acute post partum period. This is useful anytime pre birth - never too early or late. We give you evidenced based and practical tips to feel confident in tackling movement and reducing your risk factors for any complications.

  • PELVIC FLOOR CHECK

Ideally, all folk would have their pelvic floor checked before birth, so you know you’re doing your pelvic floor exercises correctly and know how to relax and ‘push’ for birth.

    01
  • 1:1 PHYSIO

If you are experiencing pelvic pain, pressure or leaking (neither is normal - there IS help if you want it) or need more support with your pelvic floor to prepare for birth, our physio’s can treat you either in person or virtually to help manage your symptoms.

  • MOVE YOUR BUMP SCHOOL

5 week virtual series to teach you how best to move and stay strong through pregnancy. An evidence based program designed to get you in your best shape for birth, aiming to optimize birthing outcomes. For any stage of pregnancy. Please note you must be referred into this program by your Cheerful Physio.

  • BIRTH!

Rehab is important whatever your birth, but first things first; rest, recover, and baby. Hit 'learn more' for some tips for this stage.

    02
  • POSTPARTUM 6-8 WEEK CHECK

Ideally we would check the core and pelvic floor of all birthing parents 6-8 weeks post birth, whether vaginal or c’section. We can then guide you for smart exercise choices and or start early on issues that need rehab.

    03
  • 1:1 PHYSIO

Most people need more than 1 session post partum, the first session is really an assessment to see where you're at.

We then start work to help get those core and pelvic floor muscles working optimally again and treat any issues that might be causing symptoms such as incontinence, pain or heaviness.

We want to see any symptoms improve and then work towards a confident return to activity and exercise again.

  • POSTPARTUM MOVEMENT SCHOOL OR CLINICAL PILATES

Our virtual 5 week school and / or our 1:1 Pilates based physio support work is designed to get that post partum body aligned, moving well and strong again.
These offerings work best in combination, but you can talk with your physio about the best options for you and your needs.

    04
  • Running school

This 5 week virtual school is designed to strengthen your whole body, including your core and pelvic floor, specifically orientated to the demands of running. We have a clinical screen we use to give you the all clear, so after the school you should then be able to start a running program symptom and worry free.

Client Story

Rachelle is thoughtful, transparent and curious in her work. I am 26 weeks pregnant and had my first visit today after attending The Cheerful Pelvis’ Birth Prep Workshop. As someone who’s only recently learned about pelvic therapy, I wanted to get a sense before booking an appointment. I’m really grateful for both the workshop and the appointment and highly recommend both/either.

I think I would've benefitted from this kind of care long before my pregnancy. I'm really glad to have found this clinic!

As someone who’s done lots of yoga, boxing, HIIT, etc. and left a class or practice limping a little, I think I would’ve benefitted from this kind of care long before my pregnancy. I’m really glad to have found this clinic!
