Every expecting and new parent’s needs are different. That’s why we offer many possible treatments suited to different stages throughout your pregnancy journey (and yes, you CAN choose to do all of them!). Consider this a guide to help you choose what your body needs throughout the pre and post natal process.

  • PELVIC FLOOR CHECK

    For anyone who is pregnant, we recommend a 1:1 session with a physiotherapist to get a pelvic floor check. We’ll show you how to do your pelvic floor exercises correctly and make sure you know how to relax and ‘push’ when it comes time to give birth.

  • 1:1 PHYSIO

    Preventative care goes a long way in preparing you for a birth. Our physios can treat you in person or virtually to provide support with your pelvic health and develop a holistic care plan to support your entire pregnancy journey as you navigate changes in your body. We can also help address symptoms like pelvic pain, pressure, or leaking.

  • PRE NATAL GROUP PILATES

    Our small-group pre natal mat Pilates classes are designed specifically for folks who want to stay in good shape through pregnancy and prepare their body for birth. Led by an instructor with expertise in pelvic floor rehab, the classes are a safe space to explore movement and a great complement to a pre-natal physio plan. Interested in 1:1 classes instead?   • BIRTH

    We’re here to support your rehab as you rest and recover from birth, and can even do a quick virtual check-in to provide at-home guidance. Often, people wait too long to get help, and you don’t need to struggle on your own! If you’re unsure, give us a call.

  • POSTPARTUM 6-8 WEEK CHECK

    We recommend having your core and pelvic floor checked 6-8 weeks after you give birth, whether vaginally or by c-section. We can also guide you in exercise choices and support any issues that need further rehab. Experiencing any concerning symptoms? You’re welcome to check in any time, even it’s before the 6-8 week mark.

  • 1:1 POST NATAL PHYSIO

    After an initial assessment session, we’ll work on getting your core and pelvic floor muscles working optimally again. We’ll also treat any issues or symptoms you might be experiencing, like incontinence, pain, or heaviness, then work towards a confident return to whatever your goals are for your body in the long term, including activity and exercise.

  • POST NATAL GROUP PILATES

    Our small-group post natal mat Pilates classes are designed specifically for folks who want to reconnect to their core and pelvic floor and build back up to exercise after birth. I started coming to the Cheerful Pelvis when I was in my early third trimester of pregnancy and then continued until I was about 5 months postpartum (when I “graduated” :)). I started going because I am a very active person and wanted to maintain that while pregnant, but wanted to make sure I did everything I could to preserve my pelvic floor as much as possible and continue to do the activities I was doing in the safest manner (running, weightlifting, hiking etc).
